Book Publishing
Jewish books are the most basic source of Jewish knowledge and a key to Jewish identity. Just 20 years ago, there were almost no published volumes on basic Judaism available in Russian. Shvut Ami’s dedicated efforts have produced a library of high quality Jewish literature in Russian covering the full range of scholarship – Jewish philosophy, history, bible, biblical commentary, children’s books, and even cookbooks. Shvut Ami’s pioneering efforts to translate the works of classic thinkers such as Maimonidies and Nachmanides, as well as contemporary thinkers like Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch and Rabbi J. B. Soloveitchik, have inspired Russian readers worldwide. The attractive volumes we publish are effective emissaries, reaching out across the globe. Only books can reach and teach Russian speaking Jews living in isolated communities in the former Soviet Union and in the diaspora.
